Brown Bear

This picture was taken on a penninsula off Lynn Canal outside of Juneau by someone Mike works with.
I understand you don't want to mess with the Brown Bears. They are sure cute to look at, but they can be very hazardous to your health!!!

Jack in Juneau

We did some driving around and went to the Glacier with Jack & Elaine today after they got to Juneau. We hiked around Steep Creek trail - not a bear in sight - not a porcupine in sight. So we decided to walk around the trail behind the visitor's center - not a beaver in sight. We decided it was ok, at least they could see a big ice-cube!
As we crossed the bridge and started heading around toward the end of the trail, this is what we saw: We had a nice warm day with no rain until the evening, so we had an opportunity to hike a little past the archery range and found some snow for a fun snow-ball fight. We also hiked up a trail downtown to see if we could find a good place to goldpan.

It was a fun day.
