We had an opportunity to see the Aurora Borealis from Juneau this weekend. We saw that the forecast was good for Saturday and we sat at a very dark point on Douglas Island for nearly two hours waiting for the lights, but no luck. Then Sunday Night we looked out our window and saw this: Mike & I drove over to the glacier and stood at the look-out area and got a few photographs. It has been difficult for us to see the Northern Lights in the past two years since we have been here. Juneau is pretty far south, so it is usually not included in the forecast area but when it is, we usually have clouds/rain/fog or it is too light for us to see them (summer). Last night was just perfect conditions. We were included in the band forecasted and we had clear skies. What a gift!
