Brown Bear

This picture was taken on a penninsula off Lynn Canal outside of Juneau by someone Mike works with.
I understand you don't want to mess with the Brown Bears. They are sure cute to look at, but they can be very hazardous to your health!!!

Hike in the Snow...

Wow, today the weather is sunny & warm (55° outside!!!). The snow is melting & everything is glistening in the sun. Yesterday we went to the Glacier & took a hike. Here are some pictures of our adventure in the snow... by the way, it was about 34° up there yesterday, cool but not too cold to enjoy ourselves!
This is a picture of Mike & I taken on the trail under the visitor center at the glacier. We were standing in snow that was knee deep!
Here are a couple of pictures of Mendenhall Glacier with snow on the ice. Amazing to see the color of blue... you really have to see that for yourself to appreciate the beauty of it. Hope you all make plans to come visit!

Here is Aly on the hiking trail (of course, we stayed on the trail that circled around the back side of the visitor's center) but it was knee deep snow that we were hiking through.
This picture is taken at the same location that an earlier picture was taken. This is a hillside with a big moss covered rock that has water falling down the front. Aly posed here yesterday for a picture with the frozen waterfall!
This little guy was hanging out in a tree munching on nuts I guess. He was so cute and didn't even seem to be afraid of us.
This pond is below the glacier and we just couldn't get over the beautiful color of the water. It was a milky, baby-blue color. Just amazing to see!
