Brown Bear

This picture was taken on a penninsula off Lynn Canal outside of Juneau by someone Mike works with.
I understand you don't want to mess with the Brown Bears. They are sure cute to look at, but they can be very hazardous to your health!!!

We have signs of Spring!!!

We had a BEAUTIFUL sunny day today but we were stuck inside an office all day!
After work we got to take a few pictures!
(Yes, I said 'after work' - it is now light enough after work to get out and play a bit!!!)
First we drove over to the glacier to see what was new there......we saw some ice melting...
Isn't that a BEAUTIFUL reflection?
...and some sprigs starting to sprout. We also got to watch as they ran the street-sweeper. I imagine that must mean we are getting ready for TOURISTS!!!!!! Yippie!
The forest is getting ready to EXPLODE with leaves and green,
here is a last look at Winter before we say 'hello' to Spring.
(You can see the grass is even starting to green up already...woohoo!)
After leaving the glacier, we drove over to Brotherhood Bridge Trail and walked around a little bit.
Alyx was here today with her class and told me that the Devil's Club are starting to get buds, so of course I had to take a picture.
(or two)The little blueberry bushes just loved the sunshine today too.
Yesterday when I saw them, there were buds but after that wonderful gift of sunshine the leaves started peeking through today.
I could almost hear them yawning as they woke up!
