Brown Bear

This picture was taken on a penninsula off Lynn Canal outside of Juneau by someone Mike works with.
I understand you don't want to mess with the Brown Bears. They are sure cute to look at, but they can be very hazardous to your health!!!

Last Weekend...

Here is a picture of Max sitting on the arm of the sofa looking out the livingroom window. See how high the snow still is in our front yard? (Still higher than my car!) Whew, I am so glad the rain is supposed to start in the next few days. So far according to the weather page I looked up, we have already had more than 14 feet of snow so far and yep, the white stuff is STILL falling! We have been shoveling non-stop since Friday (nice neighbor got the driveway this afternoon - thank you so much!!! super cool).
This is a picture taken on a drive out to Lena Cove. The sea was pretty rough that day. I mean it had white-caps in the cove, so it was probably 5 or six foot seas ... glad Mike wasn't on a boat on Saturday!

When the wind gets to blowing the snow off the tops of the nearby mountains, it looks like clouds forming. Very pretty!
(We had a pretty fresh layer of snow from the day before so the trees are dusted pretty well too.)

Next weekend...will be very different scenery, that's for sure!!!
